A new self.

A new self.

She was in her teens when she read a conversation between two siblings. The final meaning conveyed by it simply was that we want to keep the dying happy. But we don't know when a person is going to die. So why not keep everyone happy every minute. She was quite astonished by the raw truth. She was reminded of Dr. Suess who said that we don't understand the value of a moment until it becomes a memory. We don't value the things we have. Tears filled in her eyes. She decided that she'd keep everyone happy. Though not every second, she tried to make people happy. She was quite satisfied pleasing others. But then, they took her for granted.

Then, one other day, she read another quote which said that most of the people who lived pleasing others were often unhappy. It made her introspect. She looked into herself. Was she unhappy? If all the people she loved are happy then there is no reason for her to be unhappy. But she loved herself too. Didn't she? She was quite disturbed by that fact.

Then came the twist in her tale. She read another conversation. A little girl said that though one keeps growing and numbers in their age keep changing every year, they carry a little of each year within them. We still have this childhood in us, that comes out  at right time. Well, sometimes at wrong time too, she'd think. We always have all those years, their essence and memories in us. This is right.

She tried to interconnect the two quotes. Quite a difficult task until she found another quote. It stated that we are not the same person we were the previous second. We keep on changing every moment. She was fascinated by the thought. By how true it was. By how she didn't quite realize it.

And now, now she knows all of them, by heart. And she also knows when to put in what. She knows the recipe and the ingredients required for every situation. She knows which quote connects to which point in her life. She knows that she should keep, if not already try to keep, everyone she loved happy. And that she should love herself first. That she should keep her priorities clear. She now knows that we are growing every second, we have essence of every second of our passed seconds inside us. And that, this addition of essence of this very moment makes us different from what we were in the previous moment. And today, she understands that she is A NEW SELF this second and she can do anything and everything she aims and wishes for.

Yes. A new self, that'd take her ahead.
